KUCHING, Nov 2: Sarawakians are advised to avoid traveling to Kuching district which is a Covid-19 red zone area while the residents of Kuching district are not encouraged to travel out of Kuching within these two weeks.

Due to the high Covid-19 cases, Kuching residents are also advised to have takeaway food instead of dining in.

“As many cases in Kuching involved cafes and restaurants, the residents of Kuching district are advised to buy food through takeaway or online,” said Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas in the State’s Covid-19 daily media conference today.

He said Kuching is the only district classified as Covid-19 red zone (Kuching) while Lundu, Miri and Limbang are under yellow zone.

“Kuching remains a red zone following the detection of 100 Covid-19 locally transmitted positive cases detected within the last 14 days,” said Uggah who is also Deputy Chief Minister.

The remaining 36 districts are “green”.

“All employers and department heads are encouraged to allow their workers to work from home within these two weeks until further notice,” said Uggah. — DayakDaily
