KUCHING, Feb 8: Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas has called upon Sarawakians to unite behind Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg to realise Sarawak’s vision of becoming a developed region by 2030.

In a Chinese New Year 2024 message, Uggah emphasised the importance of supporting and cooperating with the Premier as Sarawak embarks on the challenging journey outlined in the Post Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030.

“May the new year bless us all with health, happiness, unity and prosperity. Let us work together, with renewed vigor, to make Sarawak a beacon of peace, stability, prosperity and progress,” he said.

Meanwhile, Uggah also extended his Chinese New Year greetings to all celebrating the joyous festival.

He said the Lunar New Year is a time of hope, a time to embrace new beginnings and celebrate the rich tapestry of Sarawak’s multicultural society.

“In Sarawak, our diversity is our strength. The Chinese New Year, while rooted in Chinese culture, is a celebration for all Sarawakians, symbolising our shared values of harmony, respect, and community spirit.

“As we step into the Year of the Wood Dragon, let us draw inspiration from its strength, confidence, intelligence and immortality,” he added. — DayakDaily
