KUCHING, April 5: The flyover at 10th Mile is expected to be completed in May this year, followed by flyovers which are undergoing construction at 6th Mile and 7th Mile in June.
Deputy Premier of Sarawak Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said another flyover at 4th Mile has already been completed.
Uggah who is also Minister for Infrastructure and Port Development informed that the cost of the four projects amount to RM352,966,210.
“I am pleased to note that the three projects are almost completed and I wish to thank the contractor for delivering them as scheduled.
“We have many projects in the State which are currently being implemented and will be implemented.
“It is very critical they are delivered on time. I am also very happy with the Public Works Department (JKR) for their input in contributing to the completion,” he said during his visit to the site today.
Uggah also mentioned that a proposal has been made to construct an underpass at the Matang Roundabout to smoothen traffic flow in the area.
Also present during the visit were Deputy Minister for Infrastructure and Port Development Aidel Lariwoo, the ministry’s permanent secretary Datu Safri Zainudin, Batu Kitang assemblyman Lo Khere Chiang and Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap. — DayakDaily
