KUCHING, April 24: Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas today had a meeting with officers from the Malaysian Technology Development Corporation Sdn Bhd (MTDC).

They were led by their Corporate Services Division officer Mohammad Farish Nizar Othman.

Uggah, who is also Minister of Modernisation of Agriculture, Native Land and Regional Development, said in a press release today that Sarawak was very keen to learn from the MTDC experience in managing its Agriculture Venture Capital Fund.

The fund is the brainchild of Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg last year, and he had set RM200 million for it.

It is set up to help agropreneurs who are already successful but need more funds to expand their businesses.

Permanent Secretary to the Ministry Datuk Ik Pahon was also present. — DayakDaily
