SPAOH, July 8: Deputy Premier of Sarawak Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, who is also Bukit Saban assemblyman, has donated 12 cows to the Muslim community in Kampung Spaoh ahead of the Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration.
According to a report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), the donation was to provide an opportunity for residents of Kampung Spaoh to perform ‘ibadah korban’ (slaughter of sacrificial animal).
It was also to enable more residents of Kampung Spaoh to have the opportunity to taste the sacrificial meat, especially the less fortunate who are affected by the increase in the price of goods at this time.
The handing over of the cows was carried out by the Bukit Saban Service Centre in Spaoh on Tuesday (July 5). — DayakDaily
