SIBU, March 14: SUPP Dudong has called on DAP to state “who is lying and who is not telling the truth” pertaining the recognition of Unified Examination Certificate (UEC), in which the Pakatan Harapan government did not fulfil.
Its chairman Wong Ching Yong claimed that the people especially the “95 per cent” of Chinese who had voted Pakatan in the last general election want an explanation and clarification on the matter following a the revelation by former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
Wong said Dr Mahathir was reported as saying in Sinar Harian, in its March 13 issue, that DAP had accepted that the Pakatan government cannot give recognition to UEC certificate.
“According to Tun M, he cannot accept UEC despite DAP appeal and eventually they (DAP) accepted that the Pakatan cannot recognise UEC,” he told a press conference here today.
Wong said it was clearly stated in Buku Harapan, which was the election manifesto of Pakatan Harapan, that they will recognise UEC.
“Moreover, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng had also, on Dec 15, 2019, stated that the matter was their election promise, which must be fulfilled,” he added.
The revelation by Tun Mahathir only shows that either one of them was not telling the truth, Wong continued. — DayakDaily
