KUCHING, April 25: His Excellency Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Sarawak Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Raghad Kurdi Taib hosted a ‘Majlis Berbuka Puasa’ for Sarawakian families and members of the local community in Kuala Lumpur.
According to a statement from Astana Negeri Sarawak today, the programme was held at a leading hotel in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday (April 24).
During the event, Raghad handed over ‘duit raya’ from Raghad Foundation to 30 underprivileged Sarawakian families who are working and residing in Kuala Lumpur.
The objectives of the event among others are to create family spirit and togetherness in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadan.
Also present were Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) Dato Sri Nancy Shukri, Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi, staff of Rumah Sarawak and ‘Anak-Anak’ Sarawak in Kuala Lumpur, as well as other invited guests. — DayakDaily
