The operation, led by PBK I Daniel Teo Wee Chiet, was completed at 10.44pm. The incident involved three blocks of workers’ quarters, with two blocks completely destroyed by fire, while another block sustained about 30 per cent damage.

The affected area was estimated to be one block measuring approximately 10 feet by 100 feet.

A total of 28 firefighters were involved in the operation, supported by three Fire Rescue Tenders (FRT) and one Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) unit.

Firefighters carried out extinguishing operations using multiple hose lines, including one booster hose reel line and three 200-foot hose lines with three nozzles. The assisting team from Batu Lintang Station also managed to establish a fire break from the opposite direction to prevent the flames from spreading towards nearby residential areas.

According to Bomba, the quarters were believed to have been occupied by three foreign workers, but none of them were present at the location when the fire occurred.
