MIRI, March 10: Cash amounting to nearly RM20,000 was discovered missing from a 24-hour convenience store’s security box here yesterday morning.
The missing amount represent three days’ sales for March 5, March 7 and March 8.
Following the disappearance of the cash, two of the store’s female workers also went missing and could not be contacted.
A police report was lodged by the premises’ field manager later in the evening at Miri Central police station (CPS) after both workers could not be reached.
Also reported missing was the store’s CCTV footage.
Prior to making the police report, the field manager had rushed to the store at Boulevard Commercial Centre along Jalan Miri-Pujut in the afternoon, where he subsequently discovered the security box ajar and emptied.
The only items left inside was cash amounting to RM109.
As of press time, no arrests have been made. — DayakDaily
