KUCHING, Oct 24: Two women, aged 55 and 57, managed to escape a fire that razed their house to the ground in Kampung Rampangi this evening.
Both fire victims escaped unhurt in the incident at Jalan Damar.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre in a statement said three calls were received from members of the public with the first one at 7.48pm.
“Twenty firefighters from Petra Jaya and Padungan led by PKPgB Azaharul Sahari were deployed to the scene. By the time they arrived, the semi-permanent double-storey house was already engulfed in flames.
“The house which measured about 20×25 feet and one vehicle were completely destroyed,” the statement said.
The whole operation ended at 9.28pm. The cause of the fire is under investigation. —DayakDaily
