SELANGAU, Oct 8: A two-vehicle collision along Jalan Mukah-Selangau has claimed the life of a 67-year-old man and injured two others.
According to a report by the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), they received a call on the accident at 7.52am today and deployed personnel from the Selangau station led by operations commander Chuma Jadam.
Chuma reported that the collision involved a Perodua Myvi exiting the Selangau junction and a Toyota Hilux heading from Sibu to Bintulu, which crashed into each other.
“The driver of the Myvi, who was the deceased, was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated using rescue tools and a scoop stretcher.
“The other two victims in the Hilux, aged 43 and 36, sustained minor injuries,” he said. — DayakDaily
