SIBU, October 6: Police swung into action and apprehended two suspects in connection with the gruesome find of a woman’s body which was stuffed in a suitcase at Jalan Aman today.

The police had also identified the victim as Heng Meow Lin, 37, from Perak but her last known address was at Jalan Tiong Hua here.

Sibu District Police Chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit led a police team to arrest the two suspects – a man and a woman from a house at Jalan Tong Sang at 3.30 pm.

“The duo is not related to the victim but they had certain cooperation with her before on certain work,” he said.

As for the motive for the alleged murder, he said that the police were still investigating it.

ACP Stanley said the police were able to arrest the suspects based on a written note found in the woman’s body.

” The victim does not have identification documents with her but her name and IC number were written on the note,” he said.

The note, he said also contained the name of her 15-year old daughter.

A check later revealed that the woman had previous police records for violence crimes.

Based on this information, the police managed to track down the two suspects.

“The cause of the woman’s death is still pending a post mortem.  However, she had bruises on her face and neck,” said Stanley.

The police are contacting the woman’s family in Perak. The case has been classified as murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code.— DayakDaily
