KUCHING, March 27: Two previously stalled housing projects in Sarawak, Taman Fitriyyah in Kuching and Botanic Garden 2 in Betong, which had suffered delays of over two years, have finally been completed with Occupation Permits (OP) officially issued.

Taman Fitriyyah project, developed by Twin Revenue Sdn Bhd at Lot 1954, Block 17, Salak Land District, Kuching, consists of 54 units of single-storey and double-storey terrace houses.

Ministry of Public Health, Housing and Local Government (MPHLG) stated that throughout the implementation phase, outstanding issues were swiftly identified and resolved through continuous inter-agency coordination, joint site inspections, and proactive facilitation amongst government agencies.

“The project received its OP on March 18, 2026,” the ministry said in a statement today.

Meanwhile, Botanic Garden 2, developed by Green Avenue Resources Sdn Bhd in Betong Division, comprises 54 single-storey terrace houses across two phases.

The delay impacted 12 homebuyers, but with close monitoring and engagement by MPHLG, Phase 1 of the project was successfully completed and granted its OP on Feb 5 this year.

“The completion of these previously ‘sick’ projects underscores the effectiveness of coordinated efforts among the Ministry, developers, local authorities, and technical agencies in resolving issues affecting delayed housing developments,” it added.

MPHLG expressed its gratitude to affected homebuyers for their patience and cooperation, reiterating the Sarawak government’s commitment to ensuring housing projects are delivered on schedule and in the best interests of the people. — DayakDaily
