Acting on public tip-offs and intelligence gathering, a police team raided Room 561 of the premises and detained both men.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the duo have a total of 18 previous criminal cases between them, mostly involving drug offences and property thefts in various districts across Sarawak.

Following the arrests, police also seized several articles of clothing—including shirts and trousers—believed to have been used during the burglary.

The case is being investigated under Section 380 of the Penal Code for theft in a building, which carries a penalty of up to 10 years’ jail and a fine upon conviction.

Both suspects are currently being held at Miri Central Police Station lock-up pending further investigation. — DayakDaily
