KUCHING, April 18: Sarawak Governor Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi have extended heartfelt Good Friday and Easter greetings to all Christians across the State.

In their message, they reflected on the profound meaning of the Easter season—a time of solemn remembrance of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and a celebration of His resurrection, which carries the eternal message of love, forgiveness, renewal, and hope.

“As a Muslim, I share in the joy and reverence of this sacred season with my Christian brothers and sisters,” said Tun Pehin Sri.

“Although we may worship in different ways, we are bound by our common humanity and the values that give life its deeper meaning—faith, compassion, selflessness, and above all, hope.”

They shared that such moments of spiritual significance offer not only a time to deepen one’s relationship with God, but also an opportunity to reach across communities—to uplift one another, comfort the weary, and reaffirm the bonds that unite Sarawakians under one sky.

They also expressed admiration and appreciation for the Christian community’s enduring contributions to Sarawak’s moral, social, and educational development, and called on all Sarawakians to continue embracing the values of unity and mutual respect.

“In Sarawak, we do more than tolerate our differences—we embrace them. And in doing so, we find strength.

“Let us continue to walk together, side by side, with open hearts and shared purpose, as we build a future rooted in peace, unity, and understanding,” they added.

The couple concluded their message with this heartfelt wish:
“May this Easter bring comfort to your hearts, joy to your families, and renewed strength to your spirit. We wish all Christians a Blessed Good Friday, a joyful Easter, and a safe and peaceful holiday season.”

The message was officially released by the Office of the Governor of Sarawak. — DayakDaily
