KUCHING, Aug 13: Two men were injured following a single-vehicle accident along Jalan Lundu-Sampadi yesterday (Aug 12).
According to Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre in a report, they received a call regarding the accident from Malaysia Emergency Rescue Services (EMRS) 999 at 6.24pm and deployed firefighters from Bomba Lundu to the location.
“The vehicle ended up in a roadside drain after losing control. One man was pinned to his seat, while the other was in a drain.
“Firefighters then proceeded with the rescue operation by putting on a cervical collar and upper limb splint on the victim’s right arm inside the car while other personnel installed a cervical collar on the elderly male victim.
“Both victims were later handed over to an ambulance from Lundu Hospital for further action,” it said.
It added that firefighters ended the operation after ensuring the situation was safe and under control. — DayakDaily
