KUCHING, Jan 3: Two men walked away unscathed after their Proton Saga FLX was completely destroyed in a fire at Kampung Tabuan Melayu last night (Jan 2).
According to the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), they received an emergency call at 8.43pm and promptly dispatched a team from the Tabuan Jaya Fire Station to the location, which was 2 kilometres away.
The victims, a 25-year-old driver and a 20-year-old passenger, managed to escape the burning vehicle without injury.
Firefighters successfully extinguished the blaze using a water hose from their fire engine. Overhaul operations were carried out to ensure the fire was fully put out and no hotspots remained.
The engine compartment of the car was completely engulfed in flames, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation. –DayakDaily
