KUCHING, June 23: Two men were killed in an accident that occurred at the Sungai Asap junction in Bintulu today.
According to a report from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), a call was received at 8.34am, and firefighters from the Belaga station were deployed.
“Upon arrival at the scene, it was found that the accident involved two lorries — a three-tonne lorry with no cargo and a five-tonne lorry loaded with stones. Both vehicles were believed to have collided.”
The two victims were trapped in the three-tonne lorry, while the driver of the five-tonne lorry was not at the scene.
Both victims were extricated and pronounced dead by Health Ministry personnel. They have been identified as Ling Kwan Hian and Nicholas Sigo, both of whom were 40 years old.
Their remains were then handed over to the police for further action. — DayakDaily
