MIRI, Dec 31: A 48-year-old man and a 61-year-old woman lost their lives in a tragic accident near Bukit Song on the Pan Borneo Highway last night (Dec 30).
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Lopeng received an emergency call at 7.38pm and promptly dispatched a team to the scene.
Upon arrival, firefighters found both victims trapped inside their Perodua Kancil following a collision with a trailer.
Firefighters carefully assessed the situation before using specialised rescue tools to extricate the victims. Tragically, paramedics pronounced both individuals dead at the scene.
Their remains were handed over to health officials for further action.
The operation, which included clearing debris and ensuring site safety, concluded at 8.30pm. — DayakDaily
