Two injured after 4WD crashes into tanker on Jalan Serian-Sri Aman

SERIAN, June 19: Two men were injured after the four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicle they were travelling in collided with the rear of an oil palm-laden tanker lorry along Engkabang A, Jalan Serian-Sri Aman early this morning.

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Serian received an emergency call at 6.50am and immediately dispatched a team to the scene, located approximately 27 kilometres from the station.

Upon arrival, firefighters discovered that passersby had already assisted both the 40-year-old male driver and his 33-year-old male passenger from the wrecked vehicle.

The victims were given first aid on site before being transported to the hospital via an ambulance from the Ministry of Health and an Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) unit from Serian.

The operation concluded at 7.34am after firefighters cleared debris from the road and ensured the area was safe. — DayakDaily
