SIBU, April 29: Two houses of worship in the Dudong constituency today received a total of RM1.8 million from the Sarawak government.

The Salim Da Wang Gong Association received RM1 million, and the Iban Methodist Church Sibu Jaya received RM800,000.

Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) Dudong chairman Datuk Teo Boon Siew, who presented the funds at the PDP Dudong Service Centre, said that the contribution was for upgrading works.

The contribution, he said, showed the State government’s concern and care towards Sarawak’s multiracial communities.

“Every house of worship always receives due attention from the government under the leadership of Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg,” he said.

Teo also advised the recipients to use the funds accordingly and ensure everything is accounted for.

At the ceremony, Teo also presented five laptops and four printers to five village development and security committees (JKKKs) and individuals in the Dudong constituency.

Also present was political secretary to Sarawak Premier, Joshua Ting Fu Ying. — DayakDaily
