Two hikers who lost their way in Bukit Chuang Hua found safe

BINTULU, Jan 24: Two 19-year-old girls who lost their way while trekking at Bukit Chuang Hua have been successfully located and are confirmed safe.

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak responded to an emergency at 5.02pm today and swiftly deployed a team of firefighters from the Bintulu Station to the location.

Upon reaching the area, the firefighters deployed the “follow the stream” method to conduct the search for the victims within a five-kilometre radius.


The search and rescue (SAR) team located the hikers who were unharmed at about 6.30pm. The team guided them out of the forest and back to the command post.

After ensuring their wellbeing, the operation concluded at 7pm. — DayakDaily
