Two compounded for violating RMCO in Sibu last night

SIBU, Oct 23: An accountant and a general worker were issued with a RM1,000 compound for violating Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) last night.

Sibu district police chief, ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said the accountant, 38, and the general worker, 26, were caught for not observing physical distancing while having a drinking session at at pub and bistro at Jalan Lau King Howe at 10.20pm last night.

They were caught in an integrated operation which comprised of the police, Health Department and Sibu Municipal Council.

“For not observing the SOP, they had violated Rule 3 of of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures Within the Infected Local Areas) Regulations 2020,” he said.

Another three persons were also compounded for smoking during the operation. —DayakDaily
