Bintulu, Sept 2: A two-car collision this afternoon has resulted in one of the drivers trapped in his car and sustains body injury.
The driver of the sport utility vehicle (SUV), however, was able to be removed from the car by a team of at least nine firemen from Bintulu fire and rescue station.
He was immediately rushed to Bintulu hospital for medical treatment.
The accident happened at 1.42 pm at Mile 6 of Jalan Nyabau here.
According to the operation commander PBK II Winston Tan, it took the team about 15 minutes before they managed to get the injured driver out of his SUV.
Firemen were using special tool known as ‘Kendrick Extrication Device’ or K.E.D to extricate the injured driver.
Meanwhile, the driver of the other vehicle, a four-wheel-drive (4WD) came out of the accident unscathed. — DayakDaily
