Missing man in capsized ‘boat full of palm oil fruit’ found

The deceased body has been found today at 2.45pm.

MIRI, Sept 2: The body of the Indonesian man who went missing yesterday (Sunday) after his boat capsized in Sungai Batang Suai, has been found.

The body of the man, identified as Yanto Olin, 34, was found floating on the river at about 2.45pm today.


The body has since been handed over to the police for further action.

According to Miri Fire and Rescue department (Bomba) chief Supt Law Poh Kiong, the body was found about five meter away from the location where his boat capsized.

On the Sunday incident, Yanto was believed to be with his two other friends in a boat laden with oil palm fruit.

The boat capsized. The other two were saved but Yanto was reported missing after falling into the river.

The two others survivors, Matinus Suliadi Didah, 30, and Amdokus ,47, were rescued by anglers who happened to be fishing nearby the area. — DayakDaily
