SIBU, Sept 5: Two men have been arrested for the alleged trafficking of three Vietnamese women from a massage centre on Sept 1.
Sibu OCPD Asst Comm Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said today that the suspects included a 22-year-old owner of the centre and a 35-year-old caretaker.
In a raid conducted at 6.30pm on September 1 at a massage centre located in Jalan Tuanku Osman, he said the police rescued the three women, aged 30, 35 and 36, who were working as masseurs.
“A customer was also pulled to the police station for investigation,” he added.
The police had also seized a used condom, RM200 and a logbook from the centre.
The case, he said is being investigated under Section 12 of of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants (Atipsom) Act 2007 which provides for imprisonment up to 15 years and a fine.—DayakDaily
