KUCHING, Oct 11: Sarawak’s first state-owned TV station TV Sarawak (TVS) is a platform for young, local creative talents to showcase their work representing different ethnicities in the state.

Sarawak Media Group (SMG) chairman Datuk Norhyati Mohd Ismail welcomes all Sarawak content creators, producers and performers to collaborate with TVS in bringing a new direction to local film productions and fresh reality show concepts.

“By producing content that is relatable and localised, we can showcase the diversity of Sarawak with regards to our unique storytelling and diverse cultures.

“TVS represents the voice of Sarawakians and gives them an opportunity to showcase their creative talents as well as what Sarawak can deliver to the masses,” she said in her welcoming speech during the official launching of TVS at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) here tonight.

Besides broadcasting localised content and hourly news programmes in multiple languages including Iban and Mandarin, Hajah said TVS aspires to, at the same time, inform, educate and entertain the audience while introducing fresh talents to the public.

“We also have thought-provoking talk shows that discuss the current affairs of the nation.

“In the pipeline, we also have women empowerment programmes that showcase the influential and inspiring women of Sarawak,” she added.

TVS is now available nationwide through Astro Channel 122, NJOI 122, and the Astro Go mobile application. It will expand its reach to MYTV in the near future. — DayakDaily
