MIRI, Jan 25: Three individuals, including a woman, must have thought they have committed the `perfect crime’ when they walked out of a 24-hour convenience store with ice creams worth RM32.20 undetected on Wednesday.
But their joy may be shortlived as the owner of the store at Centre Point Commercial Centre has lodged a police report.
The incident unfolded at 4.38am when the trio walked into the store. While two of them distracted the workers’ attention by asking for information about some items, their accomplice quickly walked to the freezer and loaded his sling bag with ice creams.
The trio then left, and the workers did not realise something was amiss.
It was only in the afternoon when their boss went through the CCTV recording that they realised the trio had stolen ice creams from the store.
As press time, no arrest has been made. — DayakDaily
