MIRI, Jan 25: A 17-year-old boy was found dead behind a coffee shop at Pelita Commercial Centre by passers-by at about 3.40am today.
The deceased has been identified as Muhammad Nazeem Reduan Abdullah.
According to Miri police chief Lim Meng Seah, when the passers-by saw the teenager behind the eatery, they immediately rushed him to a private medical centre.
The boy was later referred to Miri Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
“The actual cause of death is not immediately known. We have to wait for a post-mortem,” said Lim.
In the meantime, the case is treated as sudden death. — DayakDaily
