KUCHING, July 2: Waste collection services in Kuching will resume its normal schedule from Monday (July 5) next week onwards, following several weeks of disruption due to quarantine orders and movement restriction that applied to several Trienekens (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd employees.

In a media release today, Trienekens announced that waste collections will resume its regularly scheduled service in all areas under the municipalities of Kuching North City Hall (DBKU), Kuching South City Council (MBKS) and Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) effective July 5.

On June 16, the company had issued a public notice informing affected residents of a temporary once a week collection schedule instead of the normal twice a week schedule after several of its team members tested positive for Covid-19.

As the team members were gradually released from quarantine and operations stabilised, the company had on June 23 informed the partial resumption of twice-a-week collection for certain areas.

During the temporary interruptions, Trienekens had also placed roll-on roll-off (RoRo) containers throughout the city in designated areas to facilitate household waste disposal from the public.

As services returned to normal, the RoRo bins placed at DBKU’s Lorong Datuk Ajibah Abol 21 and MPP’s Balai Raya Desa Wira at Lorong 20, Taman Desa Wira as well as Jalan Kampung Segedup will be removed tomorrow (July 3).

The RoRo bins assigned at DBKU’s Bandar Baru Semariang commercial area and Sungai Maong Market bin centre; MBKS’ Lorong Sim Kheng Hong 5, Lorong Song 3G, Hui Sing commercial area and Tabuan Laru Recycling Centre; and MPP’s Kampung Paroh, Jalan Sejijak and Lorong 7, Jalan Belatok, Taman Malihah will be removed on July 8.

Trienekens also took the opportunity to thank the public for their kind understanding and patience over the last few weeks of service disruptions.

For more information, the public can contact Trienekens hotline at 082-612300 (Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.30pm) or email or contact the company through mobile app, Trienekens Customer Care. — DayakDaily
