Trienekens resumes twice-a-week waste collection schedule for some areas in Kuching

KUCHING, June 23: Trienekens (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd will resume its normal twice-a-week collection services for some areas around the city under the municipalities of the Commission Of The City Of Kuching North (DBKU), Kuching South City Council (MBKS) and Padawan Municipal Council (MPP).

Earlier, waste collection services under these areas were affected following quarantine orders and movement restrictions of the companyā€™s employees.

ā€œIn view of the severely impacted manpower availability, Trienekens had issued a public notice on June 16 to inform the public on the placement of Roll-on Roll-off (RoRo) containers in designated areas to facilitate household waste disposal from the public.


ā€œWaste collection services in most areas was also temporarily re-scheduled to once, instead of the normal twice, a week,ā€ the statement said.

As staff are gradually released from quarantine, the company is undertaking partial resumption of twice-a-week collection for affected areas, which can be viewed at www.trienekens.com.my/secondschedule.

Affected areas not listed will remain under the temporary once-a-week collection schedule.

The collection frequency shall return to its normal schedule as operations stabilise in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, the RoRo containers available for public use effective June 17 remains available.

Under DBKU, the containers can be found at Bandar Baru Semariang commercial area (near H&L); Lorong Astana 7, Kampung Tupong; Lorong Datuk Ajibah Abol 21 (near Surau Bandarshah); and Sungai Maong market.

Over in MBKS area, the containers are located at Lorong Sim Kheng Hong 5, opposite Kenyalang Theatre; Lorong Song 3G; Hui Sing commercial area (behind Unaco); and Tabuan Laru recycling centre.

As for MPP, the containers can be found at Kampung Paroh, Jalan Sejijak; Lorong 7, Jalan Belatok, Taman Malihah; Balai Raya Desa Wira, Lorong 20, Taman Desa Wira; and Jalan Kampung Segedup (near the mosque). ā€” DayakDaily
