KUCHING, Dec 9: Minister for Transport Sarawak (MOTS) Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin welcomes AirBorneo’s ongoing full dry run and system testing phase as the airline prepares to launch its official website on December 10, describing the progress as a significant step toward operational readiness.
In a statement today, Lee said that AirBorneo conducting comprehensive digital testing to ensure that all online functions operate smoothly ahead of the public rollout is encouraging.
“The ongoing system testing is essential to ensure a seamless, reliable and user-friendly platform for future passengers,” read the statement.
“This milestone reflects the team’s commitment and the hard work that has been put in over the past months.”
He added that the Sarawak government continues to closely monitor the airline’s transition from MASwings to a fully State-owned carrier, and remains supportive of efforts to meet the operational timeline.
Lee also commended the dedication of AirBorneo staff, noting that many have been working long hours to complete the preparatory stages.
“The go-live of the website will serve as the public’s first engagement point with Sarawak’s own airline. I am confident the team will deliver a platform that showcases professionalism and the spirit of service,” he said.
AirBorneo, formerly MASwings and now undergoing transition under Sarawak’s ownership, is in the final stages of preparation for its inaugural operations, which are expected to strengthen connectivity and enhance rural air services across Sarawak, Sabah and Labuan.
Further updates will be announced as AirBorneo advances towards its official launch. — DayakDaily
