Towards a cashless society: S Pay Global integrates with PayNet’s DuitNow QR

KUCHING, Nov 19: S Pay Global has partnered with Payments Network Malaysia (PayNet) to link DuitNow QR, Malaysia’s real-time payment platform.

According to a Bernama news report on Nov 18, together with the support of Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA), this integration enables Sarawakians to perform cashless transactions at over two million DuitNow QR touchpoints nationwide.

The integration represents a milestone in Sarawak’s drive towards financial inclusion and digital financial services outreach to a broader audience and further aligns with the Sarawak Digital Economy 2030 Blueprint, which focuses on modernising the State’s financial infrastructure and making digital payments a standard part of daily life.

SMA general manager, Dato Dr Anderson Tiong Ing Heng, said this new feature opens new opportunities for businesses and individuals to participate in the global marketplace.

“Through innovations like this, we are enhancing digital inclusivity and strengthening Sarawak’s position in the regional and international economy,” he said.

General manager of SiliconNet Technologies Sdn Bhd, operator of S Pay Global, Hii Saan Chieng, said the integration highlights their commitment to seamless cashless payments for all Sarawakians.

“This fosters convenience, accessibility, and a financially inclusive Sarawak,” said Hii.

Meanwhile, PayNet Commercial Division senior director, Azrul Fakhzan Mainor the integration will accelerate the flow of commerce, adding. “This collaboration amplifies the beginning of a truly transformative customer experience for all facets of Sarawak society.”

S Pay Global will also roll out the new DuitNow QR for existing merchants in the coming months.

New merchants interested in joining are welcome to contact S Pay Global to sign-up.

On November 16, it was reported that S Pay Global’s upcoming international expansion will support cross-border QR, allowing foreign visitors to make online payments while in Malaysia. — DayakDaily
