Tourist guides get updates on Padawan’s tourism potential

KUCHING, May 15: Twenty-eight members of Sarawak Tourist Guides Association (SKTGA) led by its honorary secretary Edward Lim Ghim Ang visited Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) on Monday (May 13).

MPP chairman Lo Khere Chiang, deputy chairman Dato Ahmad Ibrahim, acting deputy council secretary Ita Ling and senior staff were on hand to welcome the entourage.

An MPP media release today revealed that the objectives of the visit were to get the latest information and explore the various tourism products and places of attractions within MPP areas.

Lo, in his welcoming remarks, thanked Lim and SKTGA members for their effort and willingness to spend time to learn more about tourism products in Padawan areas.

“I will assist you to the best of my ability to showcase Padawan and promote all the exotic tourism products in this area to visitors and tourists.

“This is my obligation and commitment to make sure Padawan is known to everyone and charted on the world map,” he pledged.

Its Corporate and Community Development Division head Ng Siang Wei briefed the group on the places of interests in Padawan that could be promoted to tourists and visitors.

The group also visited MPP’s Pitcher Plant Garden near MPP’s headquarters. — DayakDaily
