Tourism minister wins hearts with dance moves alongside M’sian singer Ah Niu at media appreciation gala

KUCHING, March 10: Dato Sri Tiong King Sing, the federal Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture (Motac), once again delighted netizens by joining popular Malaysian singer Tan Kheng Seong, known to fans as Ah Niu, for a spontaneous dance on stage.

The highlight of the evening came when Ah Niu invited Tiong, who is also Bintulu MP, on stage for a dance while the singer sang his popular track ‘Mamak Stall’ during Motac’s Media Appreciation Gala 2024, which was held on March 8 at a hotel in Kuala Lumpur.

WeirdKaya, a community news platform, shared a video of Tiong and Ah Niu on stage from Chinese newspaper Sin Chew Daily on its Facebook page, which received over 7,000 likes and reactions, and 1.8k comments.

A netizen commented: “Open-minded, sporting, and the best YB minister.”

Another said: “To understand the people the politicians must go down and mingle with the people…syabas (well done) YB.”

A third user commented, “To me, your dance, even though it is mixed with Sarawak native elements, is the best in Malaysia. Syabas (well done),” while another wrote, “Why Taylor (Swift) when we have Tiong.”
