KUCHING, Aug 13: Tourism and cultural activities are permitted with a maximum attendance of 50 per cent capacity depending on the premises or a maximum of 100 participants only at any one time for all districts in Sarawak except Kuching, Lundu, Bau, Serian, Tebedu, Samarahan, Asajaya and Simunjan.
The latest change comes with the updated standard operating procedure (SOP) for regions already in Phase 3 of the National Recovery Plan (NRP).
The activities allowed include public tourist attractions such as zoos, farms, aquariums, entertainment centres, recreational parks, extreme, adventure, or nature parks.
Art, culture and heritage premises such as museums, libraries, art galleries, cultural heritage art centres or villages and cultural performance stages are also among the places given the green light to hold events, but with limited capacity.
“Other tourism and cultural activities other than under the list of activities not allowed (Negative List) is subject to the tourism SOP approved by SDMC,” it said in a statement today.
Employers, operators and employees of the abovementioned tourism and cultural premises will be fully responsible in ensuring all visitors comply with the enforced SOP at all times. — DayakDaily
