MIRI, Oct 21: Assistant Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew asserts that the 2021 State Budget which will be tabled next month to be a people-centric budget.

He opined, that the budget will not only cover various economy sectors for post Covid-19 recovery, but it will also focus on peoples'(Sarawakians) well being.

Ting who is also Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) secretary general disclosed this when met today (Wednesday) after attending the Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Lutong’s environmental programme held at Piasau Nature Reserves (PNR) in Miri.

He was responding to a question on what to expect from Budget 2021.

“This (Budget) is a continuation of our (State) budget presented in 2019, whereby the State government has been implementing more people-centric projects to ensure no one is left behind,” he reckoned.

“…and we hope to hear more good news for this coming Budget (2020),” Ting said.

Ting added, that the Budget will be focusing more on ordinary people to help them in the post Covid-19 recovery.
