KUCHING, Aug 9: A neighbour’s quick response in extinguishing a fire caused by a leaking gas cylinder hose prevented a house from being consumed by flames in Taman Merdang Gayam 3, located in Kota Samarahan.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak acted swiftly in dispatching firefighters from the Kota Samarahan station, prompted by a distress call at 9.33 am today.
Upon their arrival, the firefighting team identified that the fire originated from a gas cylinder used for cooking, due to a leak in the hose connection.
The blaze had a minor impact, affecting only a section of the kitchen wall.
The firefighters meticulously inspected the area to ensure the fire was completely extinguished and that no potential sources of reignition remained. — DayakDaily
