Timber camp chief surveyor perishes after vehicle plunges into Kapit ravine

KAPIT, June 11: The chief surveyor of a timber camp lost his life after he lost control of his four-wheel drive vehicle and plunged down a ravine.

During the incident which took place yesterday at 10am, the victim, 58, was heading home from work along Jalan Ke Engkaramoh when he lost control of his vehicle, Kapit district police chief, Deputy Supt Freddy Bian disclosed.

“Our investigation revealed that the vehicle went down a 30-metre deep ravine. He died on the spot,” he added.


The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Penal Code. — DayakDaily
