Tiang said he would help to follow up with the issue with Sarawak Economic Planning Unit (EPU) next week.

“I received numerous queries regarding this issue. I understand they are anxious, so I want to help the companies in Sibu who have made the applications but have yet to receive the assistance.

“So, those who have yet to receive any assistance or yet to receive any reply from the relevant authorities, please submit your company names and person-in-charge contact number to my assistant Miss Wong at 010-5699773 (texting),” he urged in a statement today.

Alternatively, the applicants can also provide their details to Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Pelawan office on the 2nd Floor, Jalan Kampung Dato.

Tiang, who is also Assistant Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government, gave assurance that he will collect all the information and submit them to EPU.

He clarified that he could only assist those who had already submitted their applications but not for new applications as the application for the assistance had already been closed.

Under the BKSS 7.0, he reminded that eligible SMEs in Sarawak registered with the Social Security Organisation (Socso) as of March 31, 2021, would receive special one-off financial assistance of RM10,000 which payment should have been rolled out in December 2021.

For the BKSS 7 Plus, a special one-off financial assistance of RM3,000 will be given to active micro-enterprises in Sarawak registered with Socso as of March 31, 2021, he added. — DayakDaily
