KUCHING, Jan 25: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning for Kuching and various areas in Sarawak this evening.
Anticipated weather conditions include thunderstorms, heavy rainfall, and strong winds affecting Sarikei (Sarikei and Meradong), Sibu (Sibu and Selangau), Mukah (Tanjung Manis, Daro, and Matu), and Bintulu (Tatau and Sebauh).
The warning, issued at 2.35pm today, remains in effect until 5pm.
“A warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity greater than 20 mm/hour that is approaching or expected to last for more than an hour.
“A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning that is valid for a maximum of six hours per release,” it highlighted. — DayakDaily
