KUCHING, Oct 18: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a weather warning for several districts in Sarawak, indicating potential thunderstorms until 7pm tonight.
According to MetMalaysia, thunderstorms accompanied by heavy rain and strong winds are expected to affect Sri Aman (Sri Aman), Sarikei (Julau), Sibu, and Kapit (Song and Kapit).
The warning, which was issued at 4.25pm today, is expected to remain in effect until 7pm.
“A warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity greater than 20 mm/hour that is approaching or expected to last for more than an hour.
“A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning that is valid for a maximum of six hours per issuance,” it said. — DayakDaily
