Thunderstorms forecasted across Kuching, Sarikei, Mukah, other districts until 6pm (Sept 25)

KUCHING, Sept 25: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning for several areas in Sarawak, which will remain in effect until this evening.

According to MetMalaysia, thunderstorms accompanied by heavy rain and strong winds are expected to affect Kuching (Kuching), Sarikei (Sarikei and Meradong), Mukah (Tanjung Manis, Daro, and Matu), Kapit (Song and Kapit), Miri (Marudi), and Limbang.

The warning, which was issued at 3.25pm today, will remain in effect until 6pm.

ā€œA warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity greater than 20 mm/hour that is approaching or expected to last for more than an hour.
