KUCHING, April 29: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (Met Malaysia) has issued thunderstorm warnings for nine districts in Sarawak until 9pm tonight.
According to Met Malaysia in a Facebook post at 5.25pm today, the districts are Serian, Samarahan, Simunjan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Limbang, and Lawas.
The department said a warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with rain intensity exceeding 20 millimetres per hour that is close to or expected to occur for more than an hour.
It also said that a thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a period not exceeding six hours for a single issue. — DayakDaily
