Thunderstorms expected in Kuching, Samarahan and most parts of Southern, Central Sarawak

KUCHING, Aug 2: Kuching is expected to be hit by thunderstorms which will be accompanied by heavy rain and strong winds, while Samarahan and Bintulu are expected to experience similar weather.

Other districts which will be affected include Serian, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, Kapit (Song).

The Malaysian Meteorological Department released an advisory at 2.40pm warning of expected downpours with rainfall intensity surpassing 20mm per hour, which is projected to persist until 6pm.
