KUCHING, Aug 23: Thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds are expected to occur in several parts of Sarawak today.
According to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (METMalaysia), Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu (Kanowit), and Mukah (Tanjung Manis, Daro, Matu, and Dalat) were issued thunderstorm warnings, which are valid until 12pm today.

Warnings are issued when there are indications of a thunderstorm with a rainfall intensity exceeding 20 mm/hour that is imminent or expected to occur for more than one hour.
A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a period not exceeding six hours for a single issue. — DayakDaily
