KUCHING, March 2: An alert for thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds has been issued for five districts across Sarawak until 4 pm.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) issued the advisory at 12.45pm, stating that the affected districts are Sibu, Selangau, Mukah, Kapit, and Bintulu.
The department said a warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity greater than 20mm/hour approaching or expected to last for more than an hour.

It added that a thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a maximum of six hour per release. — DayakDaily
