KUCHING, Sept 1: A thunderstorm warning has been issued for Central and Northern Sarawak this afternoon by the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).
Thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds are expected to affect Sibu (Selangau), Mukah, Bintulu (Tatau dan Sebauh), Miri (Subis, Beluru dan Marudi) dan Limbang, according to a MetMalaysia advisory issued at 1.35pm today, which is valid until 4pm.
“A thunderstorm warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity of more than 20 mm/hour that is close or expected to last for more than an hour,” it said. — DayakDaily
