KUCHING, Nov 16: Thunderstorm alerts have been issued for 15 districts in Sarawak until 4pm today.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) issued an advisory notice at 12.20pm stating that the affected districts are Kuching, Samarahan, Asajaya, Betong, Sarikei, Pakan, Meradong, Sibu, Selangau, Mukah, Daro, Bintulu, Tatau, Limbang, and Lawas.
According to the department, expected weather conditions include heavy rain and strong winds.
It also said that a warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity greater than 20mm/hour approaching or expected to last for more than an hour.
It added that a thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for six hours per issuance. — DayakDaily
