KUCHING, Oct 26: Thunderstorm alerts were issued for seven districts in Sarawak until 5pm today.
According to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia), in an advisory notice issued at 1.50pm today, the affected districts are Sibu, Kapit, Song, Bintulu, Miri, Subis, and Marudi.

The department said expected weather conditions include heavy rain and strong winds.
A warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity greater than 20mm/hour approaching or expected to last for more than an hour.
“A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning that is valid for a maximum of six hours per issuance,” it added. — DayakDaily
